Senior Buyer CH & EMEA 100% (f/m/d)

The Senior Buyer CH & EMEA is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and executing moderately complex procurement projects in Switzerland and the EMEA region. The role also includes advising requesters, developing procurement plans, and negotiating contracts.

Job description

Tasks

  • Advises requesters on all relevant procurement aspects (procurement channels, procurement process, suppliers, forms, templates, minimum requirements, etc.)
  • Designs and implements appropriate sourcing plans and approaches for assigned sourcing and requirements cases based on category strategy insights, in consultation with requesters and (senior) sourcing leads.
  • Prioritizes and promotes sourcing and procurement projects appropriately - monitors them frequently to ensure full status transparency until successful completion
  • Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates appropriate commercial terms and conditions, associated pricing, KPIs, and SLAs based on operating manuals and business objectives.
  • Applies concepts, tools, and solutions for appropriate risk minimization and compliance
  • Carries out sourcing, contract, and procurement processes within the pre-agreed parameters with the responsible (senior) sourcing lead
  • Enables and delivers significant cost savings
  • Performs advanced expenditure analysis and reports on cost savings and avoidance through sourcing process initiatives
  • Informs (senior) sourcing lead and line manager about relevant procure-to-pay issues, policy and/or sourcing process deviations
  • Communicates and shares procurement-related information with team members

Further tasks

  • Analysis of contracts, previous sourcing and procurement cases to identify potential re-sourcing priorities and present cases to (senior) sourcing lead
  • Ensures up-to-date, clear documentation, data confidentiality, and integrity
  • Publishes monthly and ad hoc analyses and reports, including activity tracking and reports
  • Collaborates with line managers on special projects and continuous improvement
  • Takes over absences of buyers and spot buyers (and selectively from line managers)

Requirements

  • Completed commercial diploma or degree in (technical) business administration, preferably in a procurement/supply chain-related subject
  • 5-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, and contract roles, with practical commercial and contractual negotiations and required current exposure in multiple direct spend categories within a financial institution
  • Experience in supplier relationship management and sourcing category strategy implementation
  • Proven history of exemplary values and conduct, including standards of integrity, respect, data and due diligence, transparency, management of confidentiality, conflicts of interest, respect for risk management, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, competence
