Senior Compliance Control Officer

LGT Bank in Zurich is seeking a Senior Compliance Control Officer to assist with the implementation of international compliance standards and the minimization of regulatory risks. The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in law, has at least three years of professional experience in regulatory compliance, and possesses in-depth knowledge of financial regulation.

Your responsibilities

  • They support LGT’s Compliance Department in implementing international compliance standards and help minimize risks associated with the implementation of various regulations in day-to-day business operations.
  • Careful review of compliance with compliance guidelines within a regulatory environment, as well as the identification and documentation of important information regarding potential compliance issues, such as changes in federal law or other regulations.
  • Occasional communication with other authorities within the Union or with international partners regarding compliance with specific regulations.
  • Work as part of the team to develop and optimize compliance processes and methods to improve regulatory compliance and ensure that these processes function optimally at all times.
  • Continuously monitor current developments in the financial services sector in collaboration with colleagues from the regulatory authority’s team (Regulatory Services) and identify any challenges or threats to the bank’s operational efficiency.
  • Developing appropriate measures to address these issues and coordinating the implementation of these measures within the context of the bank's culture.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Master's degree in law; a law degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in regulatory compliance, fund management, banking, insurance, or related fields.
  • Excellent command of German and English (spoken and written).
  • Project experience in the development and implementation of compliance systems and processes, as well as experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of relevant national and international regulations and rules, particularly as they relate to the financial sector, such as the MiFID II, MAR, MiFIR, and AML regulations.
  • Experience working with internal and external entities, such as tax authorities, regulatory agencies, and the Federal Office of Justice.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in the administration of key database systems and the use of modern application software.
  • A high degree of independence, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to take the initiative.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders and to understand and meet their needs.
  • Willingness to travel and to participate in training sessions and seminars for professional development in the areas of compliance and regulation.
