Senior Compliance Manager

The Senior Compliance Manager will be expected to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and develop and implement the compliance strategy in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years' experience in compliance in MAS-regulated financial institutions and have a working knowledge of the MAS regulatory framework.

Job description: Senior Compliance Manager

Tasks

  • Support the development and implementation of the company's compliance strategy in Singapore, providing strategic leadership to the compliance function and high caliber regulatory and advisory support to internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Establish, update, monitor and implement CFT frameworks, policies and procedures, including KYC/KYT procedures, transaction monitoring, sanctions/PEP monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting and ongoing client due diligence.
  • Promoting a strong compliance culture throughout the organization by balancing regulatory rigor with practical solutions.
  • Monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal guidelines, ensuring effective implementation of compliance frameworks and ensuring appropriate controls.
  • Tracking and analyzing regulatory developments, assessing their impact on business operations and advising relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure that employees are aware of and comply with the latest regulatory developments and industry standards.
  • Manage regulatory reporting and maintain regular communication with the MAS and other relevant authorities.
  • Conduct internal compliance assessments and risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Provide compliance advice for new products, services and business initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.
  • Assist with audit readiness and regulatory audits, including preparing documentation and coordinating with internal teams and responding to requests from auditors and/or regulators.
  • Evaluate and maintain outsourcing arrangements in accordance with MAS outsourcing guidelines and internal governance standards.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in compliance within MAS-regulated financial institutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, finance or a related field.
  • Proven experience in establishing and implementing compliance functions within MAS-regulated financial institutions, in particular institutions holding a Capital Markets Services License and/or a (Major Payment Institution) License.
  • Deep and practical understanding of the MAS regulatory framework, with hands-on experience in applying Singapore's regulations to digital assets and capital market products. Familiarity with the Securities and Futures Act (SFA), Payment Services Act (PSA), Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA) and relevant MAS notices and guidelines on virtual assets is essential.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and influence across functions.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time and accurately, with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses a constructive and solution-oriented mindset, with a proactive approach to problem solving and a clear focus on execution.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous and fast-moving environments, with the ability to adapt to changing regulatory and business landscapes.
