Senior Compliance Officer for Onboarding and Periodic Reviews
EFG International is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer for Onboarding & Periodic Reviews in Switzerland who can handle complex client inquiries and conduct compliance analyses. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the industry and be fluent in English.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Officer for Onboarding & Periodic Reviews who can manage complex clients. Experience in the private banking industry and a strong understanding of international markets are required. Fluency in English is a must.Main tasks
- Preparation of comprehensive compliance analyses and recommendations for new accounts for both individuals and legal entities
- Comprehensive review of existing relationships, including various aspects of different structures; updating due diligence and risk classification; analyzing cash flows; analyzing customer information profiles with regard to transitional behavior; assessing compliance; and evaluating changes in circumstances
- Presentation of specific cases to the Client Acceptance Committee, including relevant risk assessments and clear compliance recommendations
- Advising and supporting the front office on matters related to anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and compliance with the Swiss Code of Conduct for Banks as part of the due diligence process (CDB 20)
- Assessment of clients' tax compliance, including FINMA and CRS forms and other relevant elements; documentation of this assessment and/or inquiries (e.g., inquiries from other departments or third parties, follow-ups)
- Managing Other Inquiries
- Support for tasks related to internal and external audits, upon request
- Reporting Potentially Suspicious Cases to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)
- Collaborate with other units as needed, such as the Sanctions Team, the Legal Department, Account Documentation, and other relevant departments, to ensure a thorough assessment of customers
Requirements
- Professional English required
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Principled, self-reliant, and a strong team player and collaborator
- Ability to express oneself clearly, both orally and in writing
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately interpret complex documents or structures
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
