Tasks

• Manage multiple technical initiatives, potentially on multiple projects simultaneously
• Develop with a results-oriented approach while meeting implementation deadlines
• Ability to take responsibility at a later stage for monitoring project progress via junior consultants, allocating resources to projects and mentoring new staff
• Be self-motivated and self-driven
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, agile team environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); good interpersonal skills; ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector

Requirements

Education and preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or equivalent field with at least 5 years of experience
• Experience in method-based solution delivery and customer requirements management
• Solid customer contact skills
• Problem-solving skills and ability to recognize long-term solutions across multiple projects
• Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Self-starter, can work both independently and as part of a team

Technical experience

• XML and XSLT
• Tomcat configuration and optimization
• N-tier application architecture
• SOAP/XML and messaging software such as MQ Series, MSMSQ, Sonic MQ and Open JMS
• In-depth knowledge of one of the following RDBMS: Oracle, MS SQL Server or Sybase
• Java and C programming
• Windows and Unix (Solaris and Linux)
• Knowledge of ETL tools
• Familiarity with at least one SCM (Subversion or Perforce would be a plus)
• Perl

Language skills

• Must have strong Japanese and English oral and written language skills

Additional requirements

• Experience in the financial services sector
• Previous consulting background
• Ability to read/write XSD and DTDs
• Extract transform and load tools such as Infomatica
• Knowledge of design patterns
• Exposure to task scheduling software
