Senior Credit Officer

The Senior Credit Officer is responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of customers and processing credit applications, and assists in the development and implementation of a robust credit risk framework. The role also includes strategic leadership tasks and collaboration with various teams and stakeholders.

Tasks

  • Acting as deputy and substitute for the Chief Credit Officer when necessary, with significant strategic leadership role, decision-making authority, and direct responsibility for business results
  • Support in developing and implementing a robust credit risk framework, policies, and procedures
  • Credit officer capable of working with a high degree of independence on standard and complex residential mortgage transactions and Lombard credit facilities
  • Review, analysis, and evaluation of credit transactions (standard and non-standard)
  • Processing credit applications, including discussions with stakeholders
  • Contact with headquarters on relevant credit-related issues to ensure compliance with group credit guidelines
  • Participation in credit committees (both locally and at group level) with risk insights and challenges
  • Credit advice for customer relationship officers and their teams to promote sustainable growth that is consistent with the Group's risk appetite and credit policy
  • Proven comprehensive skills in coordinating specific initiatives and supporting teams and functions (e.g., special task force)
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and amend local credit policies/procedures/internal guidelines in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Contribution to the preparation of all regulatory reports (ICAAP, RACI, PPR, etc.)
  • Willingness to support the credit administration team in monitoring daily shortfalls and ensuring proper management and maintenance of the credit portfolio and credit files

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in banking, finance, business administration, and risk management; master's degree would be preferred
  • Proven leadership qualities
  • Very good communication skills
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in credit risk management
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong team player
