Senior Data Engineer

Incore Technology AG is looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will be responsible for the data warehouse and reporting solutions in the core banking system environment and who has experience in developing DWH solutions in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will have a higher education degree in computer science, very good SQL skills, and experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Hop.

Tasks

The Data & Analytics team is responsible for the central data warehouse as well as reporting and data integration solutions in the core banking system environment. Their focus areas:
  • Responsibility for the data warehouse, including historical data storage (e.g., transaction data, inventories, accruals)
  • Development of reporting, BI, and analytics solutions for specialist departments and management
  • Support for non-API-based interfaces (batch processing, file integrations, job control, monitoring)
  • Implementation of banking procedures in the core banking system (e.g., mass data processing, interest accruals, special runs, regulatory evaluations)
  • Technical responsibility for data migration during bank onboarding (mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation)
  • Ensuring data quality and technical accuracy (reconciliation, plausibility checks)

Requirements

What you bring to the table:
  • Higher education in computer science or comparable field
  • Several years of experience in developing DWH solutions in the banking sector, ideally with core banking systems (e.g., Finova)
  • Very good knowledge of SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL), data modeling (Star/Snowflake, historical models, ETL/ELT), high level of Python proficiency
  • Ideally, experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Hop or similar platforms
  • Practical experience with BI/reporting tools, translating technical requirements into semantic models, reports, key figures, and dashboards
  • Careful testing and quality focus
  • Good communication and coordination skills with specialist departments, module managers, and project teams
  • Open-minded, team-oriented, and communicative personality
  • Very good German language skills (minimum C1), good English language skills (B1)
