Senior Database Engineer

Tasks

The role involves managing and administering Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server databases. This includes:

• Database Management and Administration
• Collaborate with other technology teams to identify and implement optimal solutions
• Automation, standardization, and/or elimination of technologies wherever possible
• Planning Upgrades and Database Refresh Activities
• Ensuring high infrastructure availability and minimizing downtime
• Providing a high level of service for incidents, requests, and changes
• Responsibility for database security and providing guidance to infrastructure teams, developers, and end users
• Participation in an on-call support rotation

Requirements

Required:

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle or PostgreSQL, BDI/DIAS
• Basic knowledge of MongoDB or SQL Server
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Reliability in London
• Strong storage capabilities (ideally SAN, NAS, HBA, zFS, LUN mapping)
• Experience in the design, construction, and configuration of DataGuard, RMAN
• Extensive experience with at least one relational database (Oracle/Internals, SQL, storage, networking)
• Ability to design and optimize performance across the entire stack (database internals, OS, storage, network)
• Flexible work model (hybrid/remote)
