Senior Economist (80% -100%)

The Swiss National Bank is looking for a Senior Economist (80%-100%) to manage projects at the interface between economics and technology. The focus is on designing the SIC system, representing the SNB externally and preparing the basis for decision-making.

Job description

Your contribution:

  • Management of projects at the interface between economics and technology with high strategic complexity or scientific demands;
  • Independent preparation and representation of decision-making bodies vis-à-vis management;
  • Professional orientation of a topic committee, taking into account different sources of information, project results and scientific findings;
  • Representation of the team on specialist committees within and outside the SNB;
  • Preparation of briefings, presentations and publications.

Your knowledge and experience:

  • Proven experience in policy or strategy consulting and working with decision makers and committees;
  • Proven experience in the management of complex projects;
  • Proven experience in policy or strategy consulting and working with decision makers and committees;
  • Sound knowledge of financial market or central bank-specific topics and ideally of financial market infrastructures and payment transactions;
  • Master's degree or doctorate in an economic or social science subject and experience in scientific work;
  • High analytical and conceptual skills;
  • High social competence, confident demeanor, awareness of change and strong ability to cooperate and work in a team;
  • Confident communication in German or French as well as in English.
