Senior Engineer, Enterprise Risk

Job Summary

Design, own, and maintain custom web applications that support the requirements of the Enterprise Risk function.

Responsibilities for risk

• Maintain and enhance the current technology stack, including bug fixes and enhancements
• Design, monitor, and maintain system integrations using REST APIs and enhanced data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements
• Design, develop, test, and maintain bespoke technology solutions for the Risk team
• Interfaces, data feeds, and web-based documentation supporting regulatory requirements
• Supports in the development of end-user reporting from the current technology stack
• Participate in on-call rotas and contribute to 24/7 support and practices
• Ensure system security, data integrity
• Provide solutions and data models that are optimized for business maintenance
• Integrate applications with business communication tools (e.g., Slack, email)

Key Competencies

Essential

• Experience with REST APIs and service integration
• Strong Python development experience, including experience with common frameworks such as Django and Flask.
• Understanding of web application security best practices (DMSP, authorization, authentication)
• Understanding of databases & SQL, NoSQL, and graph databases, including optimizing queries and building efficient reporting architectures for large datasets
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Customer-centric with the ability to translate technical approaches to non-technical audiences and experience of working directly with business users
• Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail
• Able to prioritize competing work tasks

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with modern front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., TypeScript, React, Next.js)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Capable of working with large datasets
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
• Experience with embedding AI into applications worldwide
