Senior Finance Analyst

The Senior Finance Analyst at Man Group in London will be responsible for preparing financial reports, budgets, and data analyses, and will work closely with various teams to support the company’s financial management and control. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in the financial industry, and excellent communication skills.

Purpose of the role

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will work in the areas of Market Data, Fund Recharge, and Payments. We play a critical role in data collection, consolidation, and reconciliation by building close working relationships with the management teams across Man Group’s investment management businesses. Technical skills are essential to ensuring the accuracy of data and that costs are calculated appropriately and managed effectively.

Specific responsibilities

  • Ownership of the end-to-end production of the annual data and research budget and the in-depth coordination through the end of the year, in close collaboration with the Data Strategy, Business Assurance, and European Markets teams, while adhering to deadlines and ensuring accountability for the delivery of a robust, thoroughly reviewed, and accurate product
  • Managing the development and production of key data management tools for calculating data cost allocations
  • Ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and suitability of all times
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly expense reports and budget variance analyses for senior management
  • Responsible for the month-end processes to validate data and ensure that depreciation has been calculated and posted correctly
  • Preparation and compilation of data and reports for the investment management oversight committees
  • Review and Approval of Workday Invoices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the entire company to identify areas for process improvement or control weaknesses and raise constructive challenges where necessary
  • Implement and ensure compliance with departmental processes and procedures; proactively identify and implement improvements
  • Entering data and collaborating with stakeholders to determine the exact data population in systems such as Denwink and MDM
  • Participation in ad hoc projects as they arise

Technical skills

  • Strong academic background with well-developed mathematical and analytical skills
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role; financial services
  • Extensive experience using financial management software; ideally, experience in a finance role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences, including senior management; proven experience in creating well-structured presentations supported by Excel outputs (budgets, forecasts, reports)
  • Familiarity with Power BI is preferred; and training in data-related tasks is highly valued
  • Careful handling of large data sets; quality is not compromised by efficient delivery
  • Flexible, innovative, and motivated, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for handling challenges from stakeholders
