Senior Front Arena Core Developer

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Senior Front Arena Core Developer to further develop and adapt the Front Arena platform to provide new trading and risk functions. The successful candidate should have over 8 years of experience in Front Arena development and administration and be able to work in an agile environment.

Your challenge

  • Develop, adapt, and enhance the Front Arena (FIS) platform to provide new trading and risk capabilities
  • Design, implement, test, and deploy software features within an agile framework (Scrum/SAFe)
  • Ensuring seamless integration between Front Arena and upstream and downstream systems (market data, pricing, back office)
  • Maintaining and monitoring production systems with a focus on stability, performance, and high availability
  • Manage and execute end-of-day (EOD) processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Providing Level 2/3 application support and resolving complex technical incidents in a timely manner
  • Participation in on-call rotations for solving urgent production problems
  • Conduct peer code reviews to enforce coding standards, security, and best practices.
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation
  • Supporting change management activities, including release planning and deployment coordination

Your profile

  • 8+ years of practical experience with Front Arena (ACM, ADFL/AEL) development and administration
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, especially structured products and equity derivatives
  • Solid understanding of financial instrument lifecycles (cash flows, corporate actions, maturities)
  • Proven expertise in Python, SQL, MS-SQL Server, and Windows OS; familiarity with ADFL preferred
  • Experience with the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of Front Arena Prime environments
  • Working knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., IBM MQ, Kafka) and automation tools
  • Familiarity with agile methods and versioning (GIT, Bitbucket)
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, regulated environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English (both spoken and written)
  • Willingness and ability to participate in a rotating on-call shift to ensure continuous 24/7 support
