Senior Front-End (React) Developer – Financial Platforms
Julius Baer is seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Developer (React) in Zurich to develop financial platforms. The ideal candidate will be able to take on complex front-end solutions and collaborate with UX/UI designers and business partners. The position is advertised as an 80–100% role for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Tasks
- Implementation of complex front-end solutions to ensure scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability
- Close collaboration with UX/UI designers and business partners to translate complex requirements into intuitive, high-quality user interfaces
- Delivery of high-quality, production-ready React and TypeScript code for complex financial applications
- Handling advanced front-end challenges such as state management, performance optimization, and integration with distributed backend systems
- Active refactoring and modernization of existing codebases, as needed
- Support for troubleshooting and root cause analysis in development and production environments
- Active participation in an agile, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment
Requirements
- Extensive, hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, with a strong focus on React in an enterprise setting
- In-depth understanding of modern front-end ecosystems, tools, and frameworks (React, Node.js, build tooling)
- Proven experience working with large, shared component libraries
- Solid understanding of Web/Unix environments and Best scripting
- Experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated sectors is a plus
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Exposure to API security, OAuth 2.0, and related standards
