Tasks

• Monitoring existing investments and identifying new opportunities within the context of client portfolios. You will dive deep into analyzing investments and their impact on overall strategy to effectively drive investment decisions for our sophisticated institutional clients.
• Communicate investments, portfolio decisions and other ideas effectively to our investment team.
• Actively listen and respond to client requirements, including managing requests, reporting, planning and supporting highly experienced managers. You will work with a high degree of autonomy as an extension of their team. Relationship management, availability and credibility are essential attributes.
• Work independently when required while maintaining accountability and high standards of execution.
• Work with the broader investment team, which includes Investment Committee Members, Investment Analysts, Operational Risk, Statutory, Managed Accounts and Dealing to effectively execute the investment process.

About the External Alpha Research Team

• The External Alpha Research team is responsible for delivering many of the investment ideas that drive client results at Man.
• Within Man Solutions, the team's core functions include:
  • Identifying and proposing investment opportunities, conducting strategic research and gathering research due diligence to enable investment.
  • The team also provides thoughts and comments on internal products and strategies as required.

Requirements

• Hedge fund expertise: Possession of knowledge of hedge fund strategies, with a deep understanding of equity and credit strategies. A proven track record of hedge fund investing and a broad understanding of manager relationships are highly valued skills.
• Technical knowledgeDemonstrate an understanding of:
  • Financial instruments and asset classes
  • Trading technology
  • Portfolio and risk management
  • Curiosity and innovation: Are curious about the world and the industry and enjoy overcoming challenges and constructing leadership thinking from perspective.
• Judgment and adaptability: Demonstrate a balanced approach between conviction and knowing when to reassess. Able to adapt.
• Communication skills: Communicate clearly and concisely while also listening effectively and empathizing with others.
• Organizational skills: Are well organized and can prioritize multiple demands on their time.
• Technical Skills: Have a strong working knowledge of mid-office applications, including Outlook, Word, Power BI and Excel.

• Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000-$180,000 + benefits = a discretionary bonus.
