Senior Investment Professional – EQMC Fund

Job description

EQMC Fund, part of Alantra Asset Management, is seeking a Senior Investment Professional for its investment team in Madrid. This position offers an experienced investment professional the opportunity to contribute across the entire investment cycle, from idea generation and fundamental analysis to portfolio support, engagement with companies, and fund-related business development initiatives. The role is suited for someone with strong analytical judgment, intellectual curiosity, an owner’s mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding, entrepreneurial environment.

Tasks

As part of the investment team, your responsibilities will include:

• Investment Analysis and Research
• Identification, evaluation, and development of potential investment and divestment opportunities through in-depth qualitative and quantitative research
• Developing detailed investment strategies and preparing investment and divestment recommendations for discussion with the Investment Committee
• Contributing to portfolio construction, including positioning, risk/return assessment, and capital allocation

Engagement with portfolio companies

You will also contribute to the fund’s engagement initiatives, including:

• Identification of opportunities for value creation, corporate governance issues, strategic alternatives, and capital allocation opportunities
• Leading and supporting engagement interactions with management teams, supervisory boards, shareholders, advisors, and other relevant stakeholders
• Monitoring existing investments by tracking financial performance, strategic developments, industry trends, market events, and relevant corporate actions

• Investor Materials
• Quarterly Reports
• Marketing initiatives
• Trade-related analyses
• Customer inquiries and other ad hoc projects

Requirements

• Experience in private equity, hedge funds, asset management, or strategic consulting
• Relevant international experience, with a good command of English; knowledge of Spanish and other European languages would be an asset
• Comprehensive analytical profile, with a proven ability to link research findings to financial outcomes and investment results
• Sound judgment regarding corporate governance, management incentives, and shareholder value creation
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a clear willingness to take on responsibility and work with minimal supervision
