Senior Java Developer (Distributed Financial Systems) 100% (m/f/d)
Julius Baer is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Zurich to develop and maintain distributed financial systems in a hybrid cloud environment. The position involves designing the architecture of robust back-office systems, as well as implementing CI/CD processes and complex financial calculations.

Overview
- We are looking for a Senior Developer with experience in distributed systems and in developing large-scale hybrid cloud systems
Your tasks
- Design and verification of robust distributed systems, business logic, architecture, security, connectivity, and fault tolerance
- The right architectural decisions, driven by an engineering mindset (reducing complexity, ensuring ease of use, and enabling seamless testing of end-to-end financial processes)
- Maintenance and/or implementation of the back-office systems for our asset pool, including stocks, bonds, and junior debt
- Management of end-to-end metrics, microservice provisioning, and CI/CD deployments
- Specifying and defining performance requirements, ranging from latency measurement to throughput and concurrency
- Integration of complex financial calculations and third-party services, connectivity engines, data integrity, and application resilience
- Contribute to the platform's scope definition to support the strategy, and design and build services that meet the above-mentioned requirements and use cases related to financial assets and positions (marking, risk management, cost of)
- Designing iterative development and integration scenarios using JPA, JDBC, JMS, and event-driven architecture
- LBBK serves its customers' specific needs—such as back-office and core banking—while adhering to industry best practices, including cloud security, scalability, and CI/CD
- Identification and Definition of Scenarios for Business Challenges and Performance Evaluation
- Work more closely with product owners, managers, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and establish guidelines for technical architecture decisions
