Senior Java Developer - Modern Markets Apps (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking an experienced Java developer for the GPS Markets Trading Facade team to work in a DevOps environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with Java development, Kubernetes, and agile methodologies. This is a 12-month full-time contract position in Zurich, with the possibility of extension.
Tasks
- Working in a DevOps environment, analyzing and resolving technical issues across the entire stack, and providing support for development and production environments
- Deploying our services on Kubernetes using automated processes with Octopus Deploy
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to refine requirements
- Taking ownership and driving new requirements and features to proactively design solutions that meet functional and cross-functional requirements
- Working in an agile environment where you have a significant impact on results as part of a geographically dispersed team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a senior Java developer, including at least two years with Java 17 or later, ideally in the same field
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle), Kafka, MQ, event-driven architecture, and batch processing
- Strong knowledge of multithreading and memory management in Java
- Strong focus on automation and software quality
- Test-driven development, experience with JUnit, test containers, and other test automation tools
- Experience with observability platforms (Elastic/Kibana, Grafana)
- Experience with on-premises and cloud deployments in container-based environments such as Kubernetes
- Ability to work in an agile environment
- Experience in operating and supporting applications in complex environments that require collaboration across teams and time zones
- Willingness to work in a global team with members in Singapore and Switzerland
