Senior Java/C++ Developer (80%–100%) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking an experienced Java and/or C++ developer for its Market Pricing and Volatility Management team in Zurich. The Senior Java/C++ Developer will develop and enhance mission-critical systems for financial products such as FX options and FX rates.
Tasks
- Design, development, and enhancement of mission-critical systems for FX options, FX rates, and structured products
- Provision of on-call support and user training
- Communication with Key Business and IT Stakeholders
- On-Call Duty
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of financial products, particularly FX options and FX rates, combined with a solid understanding of banking systems (trading, core banking, market data, pricing)
- 5+ years of experience in software development with Java (including Java 11+), with proven expertise in the Spring Framework, JMS, JPA, Maven, and TDD with JUnit/Mockito
- Practical experience building scalable banking and trading applications in Agile/SAFe environments, supported by strong architectural and solution design skills
- Knowledge of messaging technologies (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ), message formats (JSON, Thrift), and the integration of financial market data feeds
- Experience with microservices architectures and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, as well as CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Grafana, Octopus)
- Skills in relational database design and development using Oracle, Hibernate, and JDBC
- Familiarity with security best practices, DevOps culture, observability, capacity management, and full-lifecycle development activities
- Collaborative developer with experience in pair/mob programming, constructive code reviews, and agile team dynamics
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented—able to independently deliver complex technical changes in a fast-paced environment
- A degree in computer science, ideally supplemented by training in financial products and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
