Job Details

• Job Title: Senior Lead - Data Engineering
• Location: Austin, United States
• Work Arrangement: Full-time, Hybrid (Prefer to work in the office 4 days a week) (2 days a week in the office)
• Salary: $125,000 to $187,500
• Start Date: 20 days or more's notice required before the start date

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of SQL, DevOps, Python, and best practices—including test-case automation (both UI and API)—would be preferred
• Demonstrate an understanding of data architectures and data warehouse design. This may include managing data pipelines, building data projects, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Data Modeling for Metadata Management
• Analytical skills, the ability to work comfortably with data, and the ability to derive business insights
• Work effectively and independently on data engineering for all types of data, whether semi-structured or unstructured
• On the agile front: writing user stories and creating demos
• Work as part of a cross-functional and multidisciplinary team on complex projects
• Customer-driven and with a close and direct connection to the product
• Solid experience with Python, SQL, and AWS

Experience and Skills

• Education: Master of Science in Computer Science, with a related major
• 12+ years of total experience and 10+ years of direct experience
• Expert knowledge of:
  • Kafka - Airflow
  • KFTL
  • Python
  • Snowflake
  • MLO
• Start date (first day) to be determined after the interview
• Experience with 20:
  • Data Pipelines (ELT & ETL)
• Access to local services
• Experience with one or more of the following: data science or machine
• Python
• Pynamo-db
• EBS
• confidence in reviewing others' code
• Familiarity with the three broad operational areas and an understanding of the interconnections (Portfolio Management, Depository Services, and Trust) in a work setting
• Ability to contribute to cross-functional teams, partnerships, and projects, especially those involving the internal tooling environment
• Demonstrated business excellence: an understanding of the broader financial industry and the global context in which Northern Trust operates
• Ability to manage the various stages of the product, from conceptualization and design to release
