Senior Legal & Compliance Officer (m/f/x)

Vaudoise is looking for a Senior Legal & Compliance Officer (80-100%) in Lausanne to modernize the compliance system and monitor legal requirements within the company. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in the compliance sector, particularly in the insurance industry, and excellent knowledge of Swiss regulations.

missions

The tasks that await you:
  • Independently manage and modernize our compliance system, particularly with regard to legal monitoring, internal directives, updating and monitoring regulatory risks and performing associated controls, preparing reports for management, managing and facilitating meetings of our Compliance Committee and outsourced committees, and training our employees on compliance-related topics (excluding LBA)
  • Coordinate internally the activities necessary in response to requests, surveys, and inquiries from supervisory authorities (FINMA, SIX, Exchange Regulation, etc.), as well as prepare and support periodic on-site inspections by FINMA and make the necessary announcements to ensure ongoing compliance with the business plan (e.g., for outsourced core activities).
  • Identify and provide legal support to business units in analyzing new legal developments that impact our company, and ensure that the necessary measures are put in place to guarantee timely compliance of operations with regulatory changes (excluding AML), as well as providing legal expertise to relevant regulatory projects where applicable.
  • Plan, develop, and conduct training and awareness activities on compliance topics in French and German, together with colleagues from fcnti L&C and other company departments.
  • Receive and process, in collaboration with the L&C Manager and HR, reports of violations of our Code of Ethics or internal regulations and any unauthorized integrity alerts.
  • Collaborate, among others, with our Risk Office, our internal training entity (Campus), and our Anti-Fraud Department on cross-functional or multifaceted compliance issues.

Votre profil

  • Master's degree in Swiss law, postgraduate training in compliance, an asset
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in managing compliance systems (excluding AML) in an insurance company, after working for a financial intermediary or a Swiss auditing firm, and proven experience in interactions with FINMA.
  • Essential experience in implementing and using compliance management tools in a corporate environment
  • Knowledge of Swiss regulations governing private insurance, a major asset
  • Native French speaker with excellent command of German (minimum level C1)
  • Ability to work and deliver independently, while demonstrating team spirit
