Senior Manager, AUM and Margins
Man Group is seeking a Senior Manager for AUM and Margins in London to oversee the monitoring and governance of the AUM reporting framework and analyze margins. The Senior Manager will be part of the London finance team and will work closely with senior leadership to ensure the integrity, quality, and strategic relevance of financial information.
The role
The role is based within the London-based finance department, works in the AUM, Revenues & Commissions team, and is responsible for overseeing and governing the AUM and margin-setting process within the company’s discretionary solutions business.Responsibilities
- AUM & Margins – Monitoring & Governance- Responsibility for the company's AUM reporting framework, ensuring that all expenditures comply with company requirements
- Monitoring the accuracy and completeness of actual and projected revenue calculations; senior management approval of the figures
- In-depth understanding of the company’s AUM profit structures, investment risks, and margin dynamics, as an expert in senior stakeholder relations
- Review and approval of quarterly, interim, and year-end reports
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of AUM and margin analyses for the CFO and other senior finance executives
- Production and quality assurance of the daily AUM Flash and the weekly flow forecast for the Executive Board
- Proactively developing and expanding knowledge of the company’s reporting processes, systems, and controls
- Acting Head of AUM, Margins, and Net Proceeds in the Head's Absence
- Overseeing the collaboration with the reporting team on monthly management reports for front-office teams
- Promoting continuous improvement through processes, leveraging automation, AI tools, and machine learning to enhance efficiency and ensure quality
- Leading ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives involving the AUM, Revenues, and Commissions teams
- Participation in ad hoc projects and problem-solving, including assistance with interpreting revenue recognition policies and processes
- Take a proactive role in reviewing processes with the goal of continuous improvement
Technical skills
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting, including technical accounting principles relevant to asset management - Strong understanding of financial controls within a large, complex organization - Professional certification or equivalent work experience - Experience in financial accounting or a related operational finance role in asset management - Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data and AUM trends to senior stakeholders - Proficiency in Excel and financial systemsWe offer
