Senior Mortgage Officer - IPRE 100% (f/m/d)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Senior Mortgage Officer - IPRE 100% (m/f/d) to manage mortgage risks and advise internal clients on credit matters. The ideal candidate should have experience in the mortgage sector with a focus on Income Producing Real Estate (IPRE) and strong analytical skills.

Tasks

The position of Senior Mortgage Officer - IPRE 100% (f/m/d) involves the following responsibilities:
  • Determination or risk assessment for a credit rating
  • Assessment of the borrower and the collateral with regard to credit, structural, legal, and compliance risks, as well as reputational damage
  • Identification of concentration risks in collateral and/or exposures
  • Ongoing monitoring of credit exposure; resolution of delinquent debt payments
  • Regular review of approved limits within the assigned portfolio
  • Administrative tasks within the portfolio, such as mortgage posting and proper loan documentation
  • Acting on behalf of other mortgage officers and team leaders in their absence
  • Supporting mortgage advisors in all credit-related matters and establishing regular and proactive contact, including providing advisory services to the private banking front office
  • Contribution to credit-related projects and process improvements
  • Collaboration with attorneys and external consultants to prepare non-standardized documents related to credit transactions
  • Preparation and delivery of training sessions for mortgage officers and mortgage advisors

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • Bachelor’s degree or a degree from a university of applied sciences (in business, banking, finance, or law), or equivalent education or professional experience
  • Several years of professional experience in the mortgage industry, with a focus on IPRE; additional knowledge of commercial real estate is a plus
  • Interest in how financial markets and financial institutions work
  • Proven knowledge of the relevant real estate markets
  • In-depth legal knowledge of mortgage documents and loan structures
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent analytical skills, independent, reliable, and a team player with strong negotiation skills
  • Full proficiency in German and English (written and spoken); knowledge of additional languages is a plus
