Senior Network Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in London.

Tasks

- Promote and follow technology best practices by applying strong engineering skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of industry trends and best practices to develop reliable, high-performance, and robust solutions - Build and manage Man Group’s infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud, using technologies such as Python and Perl - Integrate Ansible, Terraform, and other automation tools with network systems and services - Work closely with business partners to drive network development - You will demonstrate expertise in delivering complex network infrastructures deployed using software-driven and agile methodologies

Requirements

Essential:

• Operation and Provision of Network Infrastructure
• A solid understanding of common Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols (DHCP, BGP, PM, IGMP, spine/leaf architecture) and best practices for them
• Strong networking skills
• Troubleshooting Transport Protocols (TCP/UDP)
• Experience with general routing and analysis tools
• Cisco (IOS), Clos (05-05-05-MLAG), Palo Alto (PA-5000), and SIONC-based switches, as well as an interest in exploring new platforms

Desirable:

• Proven ability to collaborate with suppliers to develop switches for next-generation computing environments
• Knowledge of NFV technologies and coding standards in the 1 to 100 Gbps range, with the ability to debug and resolve issues
• Understanding basic power consumption and cooling issues in a data center environment
• Ability to translate business requirements into technology to improve efficiency
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of customer feedback
• A flexible and resilient team player who thrives in a collaborative environment but is also self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Familiarity with Python, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and OTHub is preferred
• CISSP, CCNA, CEH, and/or similar certifications
