Senior Network Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team.

Tasks

* Promote and follow technology best practices by applying strong engineering skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of industry trends and best practices to develop reliable, high-performance, and robust solutions; * Build and manage Man Group’s infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud, using technologies such as VMware vSphere; * Integrate Ansible, Terraform, and other automation tools with network systems and services; * Work closely with business partners to ensure system stability.

Requirements

• Operating and Designing Network Infrastructure
• A solid understanding of common Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols (including, but not limited to) IPMI, BOP PMs, GHR, and Cisco 4500v
• Network Topology and Best Practices
• Strong networking skills
• Troubleshooting Transport Protocols (TCP/UDP)
• Troubleshooting transport protocols such as Juniper/Cisco and Mininet
• Experience with virtual network infrastructure and fabrics (VXLAN/EVPN) and OTV, Palo Alto (PA-OS) and SD-NC-based switches, as well as an interest in exploring new platforms

Desirables

• Previous experience collaborating with suppliers to develop switches for next-generation computing environments
• Knowledge of optical wave technology and cable standards ranging from 1 to 100 Gbps, with the ability to select the appropriate medium
• Experience with data center infrastructure and related technical standards
• Understanding of basic power consumption and cooling issues in a data center environment
• A proactive and meticulous approach to improving efficiency and automation
• A flexible and resilient team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while maintaining a strong focus on the customer
• Familiarity with Python, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and other tools
