Senior Network Engineer
Man Group is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to be responsible for the development and management of its network infrastructure, with experience in network architecture, security, and automation. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of network protocols, security, and technologies, as well as experience with Ansible, Terraform, and other automation tools.
Job description
The Senior Network Engineer position involves responsibility for developing and managing Man Group’s infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. The Senior Network Engineer will join an existing engineering team that has won numerous industry and innovation awards.Tasks
* Promote and adhere to technology best practices by combining strong engineering skills, attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge of industry trends and best practices to develop reliable, high-performance, and robust solutions. * Build and manage Man Group’s infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud, using technologies such as Pivotal. * Integrating Ansible, Terraform, and other automation tools with network systems and services. * Working closely with business partners to drive improvements in dynamic environments. * Demonstrating expert knowledge in delivering complex network infrastructures using software-driven and agile methodologies.Requirements
- Essential:
- Operation and Design of Network Infrastructures
- Strong understanding of common Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols (DLSFP, BGP, PM, HSRP, GLBP, BFD, Cisco/IOS-XE, spine-and-leaf architecture, and related best practices)
- Network Security (Cisco/IOS-XE, OVSDB)
- Troubleshooting Transport Protocols (TCP/IP/UDP)
- Experience with current and next-generation Cisco switches (Cisco Nexus), Juniper (MX), and Arista (EVPN) in high-availability environments
- Ansible (Tower/AWX), Clos networks (Clos/Clos/VSS/MLAG), Palo Alto (PA-OS), and SONiC-based switches, as well as an interest in exploring new platforms
- Desirable:
- Previous experience collaborating with manufacturers to develop switches for next-generation computing environments
- Knowledge of NFV, software technology, and coding standards ranging from C to 800 Dops, with the ability to apply design and testing of new communication systems
- Understanding basic power consumption and cooling issues in a data center environment
- A proven track record of success in projects aimed at increasing capacity, scalability, and reliability
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of customer feedback
- A flexible and visible team player who thrives in a collaborative environment but is also self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Familiarity with Python, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, and OTHub is preferred
- BSc/ITIL/PRINCE2/TOGAF/ITIL v4
