Senior Non-Financial Risk Manager

The Senior Non-Financial Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing non-financial risks within Julius Baer’s Guernsey branch. The role involves developing and implementing risk management strategies, maintaining risk management frameworks, and monitoring key risks and indicators.

Tasks

  • Identification, assessment, management, monitoring, and reporting of non-financial risks
  • Development or implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate or manage identified risks
  • Independent review of internal control agents to ensure effective and efficient working relationships within the Guernsey branch
  • Maintain strong, constructive relationships with UK and Group risk functions, Compliance, Audit, and other key stakeholders
  • Active participation in functional and management meetings, calls, and initiatives with Head Office and other Julius Baer locations

Non-Financial Risk Management

  • Support in the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the Guernsey branch’s non-financial risk management framework
  • Maintain the Guernsey Risk Management Framework, including the Local Risk Appetite and Tolerance Statement, in accordance with local regulatory requirements, business strategy, and group guidelines
  • Support in identifying, assessing, and monitoring non-financial risks within the branch, including financial crime risks, market conduct, business conduct, fraud, tax, technology, information security, people, model risk, business continuity, processing and settlement, legal and regulatory, governance, and third-party risk
  • Coordination and support of the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process for the Guernsey branch

Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and sound judgment
  • Strong negotiation skills and resilience in challenging discussions
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism

Professional and technical

  • Demonstrable experience working in a non-financial risk or control role at a regulated financial services firm
  • Experience in designing and implementing controls, policies, and procedures
