Senior Platform Engineer
Man Group is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure for the Platform team to enable reliable and scalable service delivery. The candidate will work with modern technologies and play a key role in implementing infrastructure solutions.
Job description
Tasks
- Design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code solutions
- Configuration management, infrastructure orchestration platforms, and monitoring systems
- Collaboration with the entire infrastructure organization, developers, and platform teams
- Implementation of platforms that enable and support the delivery of services
Requirements
Key competencies
- 5+ years of experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Salt
- Experience with provisioning, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production
- Solid understanding of observability and monitoring practices, including experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms
- Commitment to safety: consideration of short- and long-term safety, security, and environmental aspects
- Experience with containerization and automation tools such as Jenkins or GitLab Actions
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools such as Jenkins or GitLab Actions
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and infrastructure architecture patterns
Desired
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes, etc.
- Knowledge of OTAP workflows and tools such as Ansible/ACI or Flux
- Experience with security and service management practices using Vault
- Experience in designing and implementing system architecture
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries
- Self-confidence and the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Contributions to open source projects or active participation in technical communities
