Senior Quant - Cash Equities

Man Group is seeking a Senior Quant in London for its Alpha Research Team who specializes in developing predictive models and alpha signals for cash equities using machine learning. The position requires at least three years of buy-side experience, in-depth knowledge of statistics and machine learning, and proficiency in Python programming.

Tasks

  • Creating high-quality predictive models/alpha signals for cash equities within a timeframe ranging from minutes to hours
  • Application of ML Techniques in Alpha Research
  • Regular Testing of Alpha Candidates
  • Optimization of Weighted Alpha Combinations
  • Exploring Synergy ML Opportunities
  • Close collaboration with researchers in the fields of Man Systems & Technology

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience on the buy side
  • Experience in developing effective alpha strategies in the cash equities markets
  • A solid understanding of statistics and machine learning, and the ability to apply them to real-world problems
  • Experience with a high-performance programming language such as Python
  • Quantitative analytical skills; recognized as an expert in one's field
  • Ability to conduct independent research, work as part of a team, and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of market structures (high-frequency trading markets and microstructure) in at least one of the major asset classes
  • Understanding Market Impact Modeling
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • Enjoyable work in a large team or various groups to find solutions
  • Ability to develop quantitative/high-performance code structures
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Self-organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects with competing business requirements and priorities
  • Strong commercial intuition and the ability to maintain a close working relationship with quantitative researchers, technologists, traders, and senior business executives
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate post-models and market perspectives when opinions differ
