Job description: Senior Quant Researcher - Volatility

Tasks

• Research, develop, and implement automated volatility trading strategies
• Presentation of new/old ideas and research findings within AHL and when interacting with other research teams within the Man Group
• Contribution to AHL's research efforts to interact and collaborate with other AHL research teams
• Use of industry and academic literature for relevant innovations and suggestions on how Man/ARL could benefit from them

Requirements

Technology and business skills

• Experience in volatility trading and modeling, as well as in volatility-based systematic strategies (essential)
• Strong academic background and a degree with a high mathematical, statistical, and computer-based content, e.g., computer science, engineering, physics, or a related field from a top university.
• Understanding of the underlying structures and mathematical behavior of financial markets
• Strong programming skills: Ability to write and create well-documented code
• Awareness of various statistical and mathematical tools and techniques, and the ability to select the appropriate tools for a given problem
• Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate communication across investment management teams and regions
• Ability to write clear, concise, and informative technical reports and proposals
• Ability to discuss and present complex ideas in an intuitive and easily understandable manner
