Senior Quantitative Researcher - Algo

Job Description

We are looking for a quantitative researcher specializing in futures. The responsibilities include:

• Generation of high-quality intraday alpha signals for futures, ranging from sub-second to hourly intervals, based on end-of-day alternatives
• Backtesting, Refining Techniques to Improve Research
• Development, Evaluation, and Backtesting of Intraday Strategies
• Solving complex optimization problems
• Identification of targeted P&L opportunities
• Close collaboration with researchers throughout the Man system

Technology and Business Skills

Essential:

• 4+ years of professional experience on the buy-side
• Experience in generating intraday alpha for futures markets
• A deep understanding of stochastic processes and the ability to apply them to real-world problems
• Expert knowledge in a high-level language such as Python
• Excellent analytical skills, recognized by colleagues as an expert in their field
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a larger team, and to manage multiple stakeholders

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of market structure, participants, trading venues, and microstructure for at least one of the major asset classes
• Experience with deep neural networks
• Experience working with large volumes of data and big data

Personal characteristics

• Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative field
• Intellectual integrity with an analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to deliver projects with high commercial value and manage projects across the entire company
• Practical experience with technology and the ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Flexible, organized, and able to adapt
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain close working relationships with quantitative researchers, technologists, traders, and senior business executives
• A confident communicator who is able to convey a specific idea
