Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer

The Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements in the Private Banking division and will act as a second line of defense. The position is limited to 12 months and is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer - fixed contract for 12 months

Tasks

* Act as second line of regulatory risk and compliance oversight by executing the mandate of Compliance Services and Regulatory Compliance in the delivery of regulatory advisory activities * Perform regulatory advisory activities with a focus on onshore and offshore business, orderly functioning of financial markets, cross-border activities of PB&CM and control and governance functions * Work with product and control functions to identify and assess regulatory requirements and impacts, and inform decisions on escalation of projects * Contribute significantly to the visibility of the Regulatory Compliance function by regularly interacting with other departments and functions, actively participating in various forums and contributing to business and other Regulatory Compliance initiatives * Support the Country Head of Americas BFSI/ PBB Head of Regulatory Compliance in ensuring that Wealth Private Banking (WPB) or other HSBC Group businesses and in particular those affecting the Compliance and Risk function are properly addressed and implemented within PBB/GBM

Requirements

* Law degree or equivalent university degree * Detailed understanding of the private banking business, products, services and regulatory issues and initiatives affecting the industry * Strong knowledge of laws and regulations, FFIEC guidelines, applicable tax laws and ethical policies and practices of the business * Strong understanding of AML and CTF/KYC * Solid and proven hands-on experience in the financial markets/compliance/regulatory/secretarial industry or legal/compliance field * Substantial understanding of all retail financial products * Outstanding communication skills * Strong investigative skills * Ability to, Work under pressure to deliver practical solutions and advice to meet business needs * Willingness to work across functions whilst remaining in a structured environment and maintaining a good game and first line management function * Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure * Fluent in English; Fluency/literacy in another European language an advantage * Computer literacy required, with skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other applications
