Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer
The Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer will support HSBC's Regulatory Compliance team in Geneva and act as a second line of defense by providing regulatory advice and analysis of regulatory requirements. The contract is limited to 12 months.
Job description
Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer - fixed contract for 12 monthsTasks
- Act as a second line of defense for the first and second lines and provide regulatory advice
- Perform regulatory advisory activities with a focus on regulatory developments, orderly functioning of financial markets, cross-border activities of PB&C teams and client behavior
- Analyze regulatory and compliance requirements and identify potential regulatory and compliance gaps
- Contribute to the visibility of the Regulatory Compliance function through regular interactions with other departments and by contributing to training, briefings and other communication initiatives
- Collaborate with Wealth Planning (Geneva and Zurich), Group Regulatory and Compliance teams
Requirements
- Degree in law or equivalent and relevant experience in the compliance field
- Detailed understanding of financial services regulation; products, services and regulatory issues and initiatives affecting the industry
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations, FINMA guidelines, appropriate design/controls and HSBC Group ethical/leadership policies and practices
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations
- Establish and maintain proactive relationships with financial/compliance regulators facing the industry or legal/compliance areas
- Comprehensive understanding of all financial products
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong investigative skills
- Ability to work under pressure while also taking the time to find practical solutions that meet business needs
- Ability to work flexibly when needed; while also maintaining an organized work schedule and focus
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Fluent in English; written and verbal. Knowledge of French or German is an advantage
- Computer skills required, with proficiency in MS software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other applications
