Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer

The Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer will support HSBC's Regulatory Compliance team in Geneva and act as a second line of defense by providing regulatory advice and analysis of regulatory requirements. The contract is limited to 12 months.

Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer - fixed contract for 12 months

Tasks

  • Act as a second line of defense for the first and second lines and provide regulatory advice
  • Perform regulatory advisory activities with a focus on regulatory developments, orderly functioning of financial markets, cross-border activities of PB&C teams and client behavior
  • Analyze regulatory and compliance requirements and identify potential regulatory and compliance gaps
  • Contribute to the visibility of the Regulatory Compliance function through regular interactions with other departments and by contributing to training, briefings and other communication initiatives
  • Collaborate with Wealth Planning (Geneva and Zurich), Group Regulatory and Compliance teams

Requirements

  • Degree in law or equivalent and relevant experience in the compliance field
  • Detailed understanding of financial services regulation; products, services and regulatory issues and initiatives affecting the industry
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations, FINMA guidelines, appropriate design/controls and HSBC Group ethical/leadership policies and practices
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations
  • Establish and maintain proactive relationships with financial/compliance regulators facing the industry or legal/compliance areas
  • Comprehensive understanding of all financial products
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong investigative skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while also taking the time to find practical solutions that meet business needs
  • Ability to work flexibly when needed; while also maintaining an organized work schedule and focus
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Fluent in English; written and verbal. Knowledge of French or German is an advantage
  • Computer skills required, with proficiency in MS software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other applications
