(Senior) Relationship Manager, Private Banking
Sygnum is seeking a (Senior) Relationship Manager for its Private Banking division in Zurich to acquire and manage new private clients and family offices. The position requires at least five years of experience in the Swiss financial sector, in-depth knowledge of the crypto industry, and excellent English and French language skills.
Tasks
- Expanding Sygnum's presence with a focus on its private banking offerings
- Responsibility for acquiring and maintaining relationships with new private clients and single-family offices within an existing industry network
- Monitoring multiple prospects and prioritizing efforts to anticipate their needs and ensure an appropriate level of responsiveness
- Provide solution-oriented support for private banking inquiries (by phone, email, and in person) regarding onboarding, product-related questions, transactions, technical support, contract amendments, administrative support/complaints, etc.
- Lead the customer onboarding process in collaboration with internal stakeholders (Legal & Compliance Operations) and external service providers
- Proactive management of digital asset transactions, as well as post-transaction AML monitoring and processing
- Updating and maintaining the CRM to accurately document all relationships
- Maintain expert knowledge of the crypto market landscape by: understanding Sygnum's offerings and strengths, attending conferences, staying abreast of new regulatory developments, and building a strong institutional and professional network
- Further development of the customer support concept (user manuals, tutorials, FAQs, etc.)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. An MBA or DBA is preferred.
- More than 5 years of proven experience in customer service or relationship management at a (Swiss) financial institution, with a focus on private banking.
- A proven track record of driving business growth with a “hunter” mentality, combined with a strong sales mindset and a results-oriented approach to building and expanding customer relationships.
- Practical experience with client onboarding (both individuals and legal entities), including a thorough understanding of Swiss banking regulations and familiarity with KYC processes and AML/CFT requirements.
- A combination of consulting and analytical skills, with great attention to detail and a proactive, practical approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-site teams.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in French and English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills for managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
