Senior Risk Manager

The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of risks, compliance with regulatory requirements and the preparation of risk reports for the Executive Board and Supervisory Board. The focus is on monitoring investments, improving internal processes and collaborating with stakeholders.

Job description

Tasks

  • Daily risk monitoring, including checking investment restrictions and suitability checks for planned investments - and escalating unclear situations if necessary
  • Observing and enforcing the rules according to the documented risk management process ("RMP"), including providing input to improve and optimize the RMP
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of relevant internal procedures and guidelines
  • Preparation of risk reports for the senior management and the Management Board of ManCo/ AFM and the Management Board of the managed structures
  • Preparation of risk reports for the funds under management and obtaining approvals
  • Preparation of reports for authorities in strict accordance with schedules and content requirements
  • Collaboration with relevant stakeholders, e.g. investment managers, administrators, auditors, etc.
  • Support with the onboarding of new projects and the launch/relocation of new funds
  • Support for risk-related projects and working groups
  • Maintenance and updating of relevant work documentation and process descriptions

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in mathematics, physics, actuarial science, finance or economics
  • 7-10 years of professional level experience in dealing with risk and/or valuation issues
  • PhD, FRM, CAIA or CFA as an advantage
  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment in Luxembourg (e.g. AIFMD, UCITS law, fund laws, CSSF circulars)
  • IT skills: MS Office, SQL, VBA and Python
  • Good understanding of LuxGaap, USGaap and IFRS
  • Ability to summarize complex problems in memos and presentations
  • Motivated, results-oriented and independent
