About the job

As a Software Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to join a young and dynamic company that is committed to providing value-added services to its clients. You will be part of the IT development department and will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of key business applications and services on our highly specialized investment product management platform.

Tasks

• Deliver high quality solutions within tight timeframes to meet demanding customer requirements
• Work closely with the business and other IT units to gather and understand requirements
• Contribute to software and architecture decisions
• Contribute to a robust automated test suite to work in a continuous integration and deployment environment
• Participate in internal DevOps and Scalad policies, build relationships with other developers and identify and implement best practices
• Close interaction with the business on a wide range of topics: from front-end portals to the management of long-term life insurance products

Requirements

• Experience in building scalable, distributed applications in Scala and Java
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Experience in software development in an agile environment
• Interest in the latest programming trends such as functional and reactive programming
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems
• Experience in implementing APIs for integration with internal and external systems
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English

Nice to Have

• Financial background in either banking or the insurance industry
• Cloud migration activities, either public or private
• Experience with design thinking techniques in iterative sprints
• CQRs and event sourcing experience
• Knowledge of serverless architecture
• DevOps experience: configuration management, containers, virtualization, continuous integration and deployment
• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform
