Senior Software Engineer, Trading

Tasks

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building, operating, and improving Sygnam’s electronic trading systems for cryptocurrencies, foreign exchange, and other assets. Your main responsibilities include:

• Active participation in the development of new features and improvements by writing and reviewing high-quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage
• Continuous improvement of application quality and security, identification of existing technical debt, and development of plans to address it
• Respond promptly and efficiently to production incidents, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and restore service continuity
• Collaborate with platform engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines and optimize release processes
• Collaborate with site reliability engineers and solution architects to optimize application availability, resilience, and observability
• Supporting and guiding junior software engineers through coaching and mentoring

Requirements

Our ideal candidate:

• Looking forward to building scalable backend services using Java, ideally with Quarkus/Spring
• Has a good understanding of Kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and containerization
• Has a deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture and can make pragmatic trade-offs between performance, fault tolerance, and complexity
• Has practical experience in developing and scaling electronic trading systems or risk management systems
• Has experience with RDBMS (ideally Postgres)
• Has experience using Kafka
• Has experience with caching frameworks (ideally Redis)
• Has experience building flexible and robust REST APIs using an API-first approach
• Has a cooperative and growth-oriented attitude
• Prioritize quality and security and incorporate these aspects into the software development lifecycle
• Is prepared to take responsibility for the entire development lifecycle, from solution development to the operation of the application in production
• Takes the initiative and thrives when tackling new challenges and opportunities
