Senior Specialist - Employee-Related Conflicts 80-100% (f/m/d)

Julius Baer is seeking a Senior Specialist for the Employee Compliance Team in Zurich who will be responsible for implementing policies on insider trading, personal trading, and gifts, as well as advising and training management. The position requires at least five years of experience in compliance or risk management, as well as in-depth knowledge of Swiss and EU regulations.

Tasks

  • Implementation of our processes related to material insider trading, personal trading, and gift registries through clear, unambiguous, and detailed statements within the policy document, as well as improvement of monitoring and advisory tools.
  • Advising senior management on matters related to material insider trading, as well as personal trading and gift registries—with a strong emphasis on integrity, compliance, and other regulatory expectations.
  • Conducting training sessions for senior management, reporting lines, and employees—to improve their knowledge and understanding of our compliance framework, including (but not limited to) material insider trading, personal trading, and gift-giving policies.
  • Provide proactive and comprehensive training sessions to inform management at the group level and make all relevant insights available to the group.
  • As part of your role as Senior Specialist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for specific industries and/or transactions involving stakeholders with conflicts of interest and governance committees, including oversight of non-compliance frameworks: responsibilities for the U.S., Switzerland, and Russia.
  • Management and coordination of the end-to-end process included in all action plans related to proprietary trading, as well as activities that give rise to conflicts of interest with customers within the regulatory framework.
  • Automation of business, product, and other activities related to the company.
  • As part of personal trading and the gift registry: Ensuring proper documentation, monitoring, and advising on disclosures, including those related to our compliance framework.

Requirements

  • A university degree requiring at least four years of study in law, business, finance, or a related field; or proven experience in a compliance- or risk-related industry, with clear prior experience in compliance, risk, governance, or a related field or business.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with a thorough understanding of market conduct rules and compliance requirements.
  • Proven expertise in transaction monitoring and/or employee compliance, covering relevant areas: compliance, integrity—including, for the company: transaction monitoring, pre-trading restrictions, personal trading, and gift-giving policies within the company—and for employees across a range of areas (personal trading, conflicts of interest, disclosures)—as well as regulatory or other governance expectations and frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of products and services in retail banking, particularly as they relate to the Swiss regulatory landscape (SWIFT) and the EU regulatory landscape (e.g., MiFID II).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with compliance systems, Workday, or training platforms is a plus.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); strong language skills are a definite advantage for this role.
