Senior Stewardship Analyst
The Senior Stewardship Analyst at Man Group in London supports the implementation of active ownership strategies, including proxy voting and engagement, and plays a leading role in analyzing and advising on investment decisions. The position requires strong analytical skills, expertise in corporate governance and stewardship, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
Purpose of the role
The Senior Stewardship Analyst reports to the Stewardship Team, which is part of the Responsible Investment Group at Man Group. The Stewardship Team focuses on implementing our active ownership strategies, including proxy voting and engagement, across Man Group’s investment opportunities.Specific responsibilities
The role involves the following tasks:- Proxy Voting: Monitoring day-to-day operations with our proxy voting research provider; coordinating with the stewardship team to conduct additional analysis of research received from third parties; serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries from portfolio managers regarding proxy voting; preparing detailed voting reports for various stakeholders
- Engagement: Collaborating with portfolio managers and other investors to achieve measurable ESG outcomes at portfolio companies; utilizing company disclosures, third-party research, and other available resources to conduct non-financial and ESG-related analyses
- Reporting and policy updates: Overseeing the handling of engagement and proxy voting-related inquiries in due diligence questionnaires or information requests; developing and maintaining stewardship-related policies
Technical skills
The role requires:- A degree in finance, economics, business administration, law, or another relevant field
- Professional qualifications in finance or ESG, such as CFA or CFA Level I (preferred)
- Knowledge or experience in corporate governance, stewardship, and shareholder rights and obligations
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated knowledge of various critical investment issues
- Strong skills, including computer skills, with Microsoft Office
- A motivated self-starter who is organized, structured, and proactive
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, be flexible, innovative, and a valuable asset to the team
