Senior Stewardship Analyst
The position of Senior Stewardship Analyst at Man Group in London involves overseeing the implementation of stewardship strategies, including proxy voting and engagement, as well as monitoring and analyzing corporate data in relation to ESG criteria. The Senior Stewardship Analyst reports to the Head of Stewardship and works closely with the investment team and other stakeholders to achieve responsible investment objectives.
Purpose of the role
The Senior Stewardship Analyst reports to the Head of Stewardship and is part of the Stewardship Team, which in turn is part of Man Group’s Responsible Investment Group. The Stewardship Team focuses on implementing stewardship strategies, including proxy voting and engagement, across Man Group’s investment opportunities.Specific responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:- Proxy voting: Monitoring day-to-day operations with our proxy voting research provider, reviewing and challenging proxy voting activities, and collaborating with the stewardship team to conduct additional analysis of research received from third-party providers
- Engagement: Collaborating with portfolio managers and other investors to achieve tangible results at portfolio companies; utilizing company disclosures, third-party research, and other available resources to conduct non-financial analysis and identify areas for improvement regarding ESG metrics and standards across all industries
- Reporting and policy updates: Overseeing the handling of engagement and proxy voting-related inquiries in due diligence questionnaires or information requests; reviewing and updating policies and procedures
Technical skills
The required technical skills include:- Degree in finance, economics, law, or another relevant field
- Professional qualifications in finance or ESG, such as IMC, CFA Level 1, CFA, or an equivalent qualification (preferred)
- Coverage of a range of sectors and geographic areas
- Practical knowledge of stewardship and shareholder rights and responsibilities
- Strong skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, preferably Excel
- A dedicated and independent approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, quickly and proactively
- Written communication and interpersonal skills
- Digital literacy
