Senior Stewardship Analyst
The position of Senior Stewardship Analyst at Man Group in London involves monitoring voting and engagement activities as part of the firm’s responsible investment strategy. The Senior Stewardship Analyst supports the Stewardship Team in implementing stewardship strategies and works closely with portfolio managers and other investors to achieve tangible results with the companies in which the firm invests.
Purpose of the role
The Senior Stewardship Analyst role is part of the Stewardship Team, which is part of Man Group’s Responsible Investment Group. The Stewardship Team focuses on implementing Man Group’s stewardship approaches, including proxy voting and engagement, across Man Group’s investment capabilities.Specific responsibilities
The role involves the following tasks:- Proxy voting: Monitoring day-to-day operations with our proxy voting research provider, collaborating with the stewardship team to analyze recommendations, and providing expert advice to portfolio managers.
- Engagement: Collaborating with portfolio managers and other investors to achieve concrete results at portfolio companies, identifying issues for targeted engagement, and leading engagement projects.
- Reporting and policy updates: Overseeing responses to engagement and proxy voting-related inquiries in due diligence questionnaires or information requests, ensuring the consistency and quality of responses, and coaching junior analysts.
Technical skills
The role requires:- A degree in finance, economics, business administration, law, or another relevant field.
- Professional qualifications in finance or ESG, such as IMC, CFA Level I, or CFA Level II in ESG Investing (preferred).
- Knowledge of corporate governance and responsible investment.
- Strong data analysis skills and a solid understanding of corporate governance, with demonstrated knowledge of broad, responsible investment issues.
- A proven track record of being organized, structured, and proactive.
- The ability to work collaboratively and reliably, think creatively, and add value to the team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation and writing skills.
- Digital, mental, and analytical skills.
