Senior Storage Engineer

Your role

As a Senior Storage Engineer, you will be part of an engineering and operations team. You will manage and develop the company-wide storage platforms including SAN (IBM Flash System, Netapp, PureStorage and Cloudian) and provide support for cross-functional activities related to tasks and/or projects.

Your tasks

• Provide and manage storage for different consumers (block, object and archive) on different technologies (SAN, LAN, iSCSI)
• Perform operational activities such as release updates, patching and capacity management
• Work with projects to support necessary requirements
• Further develop storage architecture in line with the development of the industry and products
• Provide second-level support within the existing support organization, including on-call service

Your profile

• Higher education (university/university of applied sciences) in computer science or a similar field
• 3 years practical experience in storage and SAN management
• Experience with Linux system administration and/or network technology
• Knowledge of VMware is an advantage
• Proven knowledge of various storage technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders
• Willingness to take on responsibility and a hands-on mentality
• Ability to work independently
• Fluent in English; very good knowledge of German
