Senior Storage Engineer

Your role

As a Senior Storage Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will be part of an engineering and operations team. You will manage and develop the enterprise storage platforms including SAN (IBM Flash System, Netapp, PureStorage and Cloudian) and provide support for cross-functional activities related to tasks and/or projects.

Your tasks

• Provide and manage storage for different consumers (block, object and archive) on different technologies (SAN, LAN, iSCSI)
• Perform operational activities such as release updates, patching and capacity management
• Work with projects to support necessary requirements
• Further develop storage architecture in line with the development of the industry and products
• Provide second-level support within the existing support organization, including on-call service

Your profile

• Higher education (university/university of applied sciences) in computer science or a similar field
• 3 years practical experience in storage and SAN management
• Experience with Linux system administration and/or network technology
• Knowledge of VMware is an advantage
• Proven knowledge of various storage technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders
• Willingness to take on responsibility and a hands-on mentality
• Ability to work independently
• Fluent in English; very good knowledge of German
