Senior Storage Platform Automation Engineer
Man Group is seeking a Senior Storage Platform Automation Engineer to manage and automate the company’s storage and backup systems. The ideal candidate should have experience with Linux, storage technologies, and scripting, and be able to solve complex problems and lead projects.
Purpose of the role
This is a unique opportunity to take the next step in your career. You will be part of the Storage Team, which is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing operation and support of all storage and backup systems within Man Group.Specific responsibilities
- Ensure that storage and backup platforms are available 24/7 and deliver the required performance - Support storage capacity management to ensure we always have sufficient performance and capacity to meet business needs - Use internal software and scripts to create tools for administration, monitoring, and capacity management - Participate in every stage of storage projects, from design through implementation, support, and management - Take a leadership role in storage projects and deliver them on time - Work closely with the storage, database, development, and research teams to understand and manage performance and capacity requirements - Troubleshoot issues and ensure that the root cause is understood and resolvedKey competencies
Required:- Extensive troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrable Linux skills
- A self-motivated attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Demonstrable understanding of how an enterprise infrastructure works
- Experience with S4HANA, NetBackup, and Storage Fabric technologies
- Experience with operational support
- Experience with scripting in one or more of the following languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Experience with an operating system (Windows, Linux) and virtualization technologies
- Experience with cloud technologies
