Senior System Architect - Client Lifecycle Management (CLM)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Senior System Architect for Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) in Zurich to define and implement solution architectures as part of the Global IT Architecture team. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a Senior Architect and 5 years of experience in senior software development roles.

Tasks

As a System Architect on the Global IT Architecture Team, you will play a key role in defining and delivering solution architectures for the Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) program. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure architectural consistency throughout the entire software lifecycle, from design through testing, release, and operation
  • Identify, document, and manage architectural debt resulting from discrepancies between transitional implementations and long-term goals.
  • Initiate and formalize important decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to secure approval from the relevant architecture committees.
  • Software engineers and tech leads provide guidance and support during the technical implementation to ensure feasibility, scalability, and compliance
  • Work with product owners to refine business requirements and translate them into manageable capabilities and building blocks
  • Actively contribute to global domain architecture committees: present blueprints, review peer designs, and help shape the overall target architecture
  • Enforce architecture governance across development teams and maintain quality standards during delivery

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a candidate with:
  • 3+ years of experience as a senior architect and 5+ years of experience in leadership or senior software development roles, with prior experience in highly regulated industries, ideally banking or financial services
  • Full responsibility for solution architectures—from design and implementation through to operation
  • Demonstrable ability to evaluate architectural alternatives and find reasonable compromises under constraints
  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable technical solutions
  • Strong knowledge of modern architectural styles: microservices, event-driven systems, modular monoliths
  • Familiarity with integration patterns: Kafka, Data Stream, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments

We offer

We offer a challenging and varied role in a dynamic environment. We expect you to be able to start immediately.
