Senior System Architect - Client Lifecycle Management (CLM)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Senior System Architect for Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) to define and implement the solution architecture for this program. The successful candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a Senior Architect and 5 years of experience in senior software development roles.

Tasks

As a System Architect on the Global IT Architecture Team, you will play a key role in defining and delivering solution architectures for the Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) program. Your responsibilities include:
  • Architectural approach throughout the entire software lifecycle, from design through testing, release, and operation
  • Identification, documentation, and management of architectural debt resulting from discrepancies between interim implementations and long-term goals
  • Initiating and formalizing important decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to secure the approval of the relevant architecture committees
  • Consulting and mentoring for software developers and tech leads during technical implementation to ensure feasibility, scalability, and compliance
  • Collaborate with product owners to refine business initiatives and translate requirements into manageable capabilities and building blocks
  • Active participation in the Global Domain Architecture Board: presenting blueprints, reviewing peer designs, and helping to develop the overall objectives documentation
  • Implementing architectural governance within development teams and ensuring compliance with quality standards during delivery

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for candidates with:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Senior Architect and 5+ years of experience in leadership or senior software development roles, with prior experience in highly regulated industries, ideally in the banking or financial services sector
  • Full responsibility for solution architectures—from design through implementation to operation
  • Demonstrable ability to evaluate architectural alternatives and find reasonable compromises under constraints
  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable technical solutions
  • Proficiency in modern architectural styles: microservices, event-driven systems, modular monoliths
  • Familiarity with integration patterns: Kafka, data streaming, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments
