Senior System Architect, ML & AI, Full-Time (f/m/d)

Duties and Areas of Responsibility

• Design and responsibility for the end-to-end architecture of applications, as well as for platform components in the delivery
• A solid foundation in software and system architecture, including modern architectural styles such as event-driven architectures, microservices, and modular monoliths
• Alignment of the solution architectures in the delivery with architectural decisions and coordination with the domain's target architectures
• Initiating architectural decisions, documenting them as Architecture Decision Records (ADR), and facilitating their approval by the relevant architecture boards
• Consulting and coaching for software engineers in the implementation of solution architectures and ensuring technical feasibility
• Analysis and refinement of the target architecture at the ART level within the context of teams and initiatives, in collaboration with the Lead Architect
• Practical architectural design of AI and ML solutions within teams, taking into account consistent delivery and delivery requirements
• Support the delivery of key ART initiatives (e.g., the AI Platform and Cloud Platform initiatives) by translating them into service-oriented architecture documentation designs
• Ensuring alignment and integration with enterprise platforms, data capabilities, security standards, and MLOps services
• Identification of architectural risks, dependencies, and technical debt at the team, platform, and micro levels, and proactive escalation
• Contribution from Architekturinput on AI-driven planning, backlog refinement, and roadmap discussions from the perspective of delivery and feasibility
• Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for assigned teams, working closely with the Lead Architect and other system architects

Requirements and qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a Senior Architect in complex IT environments
• At least 5 years of experience as a lead or senior software engineer with hands-on responsibility and practical experience with AI/ML solutions and platforms
• Responsibility for Solution Architectures: From Design and Implementation to Operations
• Ability to identify options for solution architectures and make trade-off decisions regarding the architecture
• Collaborative development and coordination of solutions with business and technology stakeholders, as well as relevant colleagues
• A proactive attitude, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly convey architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Additional certifications are a plus (e.g., SAFe Cloud, Cloud Practitioner, and/or Azure certifications)
