Senior Trader

The Senior Trader is a key member of the trading team and is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective execution of orders across multiple asset classes. The role requires in-depth market knowledge, leadership skills, and a solid understanding of both systematic and discretionary trading environments.

Tasks

The position of Senior Trader involves the following responsibilities:
  • Efficient and cost-effective execution of orders across multiple asset classes
  • Close collaboration with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and technologists
  • Ensuring best execution and contributing to strategic leadership and providing insights into the investment process

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
  • Be familiar with, understand, and comply with all global compliance policies, internal procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Ensuring that all transactions are authorized by the portfolio manager and accurately recorded in the trading system
  • Reporting regulatory concerns, suspicious market activities, and providing regular updates to the Compliance Department and the relevant manager
  • Continuous improvement of processes to meet best execution obligations for clients
  • Assessment of the bank's value through analysis to identify potential alpha leakage
  • Ensuring that the trading team is informed about key trading strategies, trends, banking services, and market influences

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:
  • At least 5 years of experience in front-office trading, preferably in buy-side hedge fund or asset management trading
  • Experience in trading corporate cash credit, investment-grade, high-yield, and/or emerging market securities, with a focus on best execution
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Extensive network of senior-level prime brokerage and market-making relationships
  • Senior-level experience in raising capital and managing broker/counterparty relationships
  • Expert partnerships with trading venues and/or EMS platforms (e.g., Flextrade, Charles River, Marketkets, TradingWeb, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of market structure and market analysis (e.g., LMAX, Refinitiv, Bloomberg)
  • Knowledge of Python is preferred
