ServiceNow (iPAM) Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer with deep expertise in ServiceNow to lead the design and implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions that are scalable, secure, and compliant with Northern Trust's stringent requirements. Reporting to the VP of Portfolio Engineering, your responsibilities will include managing, supporting, and implementing ServiceNow IAM tools; customizing workflows; developing integrations; automating workflows; and configuring rules to align with the company’s requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a unified identity design that supports the IAM platform, including:
  • Designing and deploying a centralized identity store.
  • Implementing Identity Resolution and Identity Correlation.
  • Configure rules and triggers for identity replication across multiple ServiceNow instances.
• Provide support for incident resolution, performance monitoring, and best practices for implementation.
• Serve as a functional lead to develop requirements, define acceptance criteria, resolve issues, and analyze root causes, while also providing technical assistance to developers and analysts.
• Establish data governance, implement data quality rules, and manage data migration workflows.
• Support user management workflows: onboarding, offboarding, and periodic recertification.
• Work with HR, IT, and other departments to maintain accurate user profiles.
• Escalate identity-related incidents and define SLA metrics.
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal security policies, and develop training materials for support teams.
• Identify areas for automation and propose improvements to streamline IAM operations.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and IT teams.
• Align identity management strategies with company-wide policies and regulations.

Security Compliance

• Assist in ensuring compliance with regulations such as the GDPR, CCPA, and others relevant to identity management.
• Implement policies to prevent unauthorized access, such as just-in-time (JIT) access and time-limited privileges.
• Develop and maintain audit trails to track user activity and changes to user data.
• Run identity and access review campaigns and implement approval processes to review and correct user permissions.
• Coordinate with data protection and legal teams to address the management of sensitive data.

Requirements

Minimum Technical Skills:

• Proven hands-on experience in ServiceNow configuration.
• Strong understanding of authentication protocols (OIDC, OAuth, SAML).
• Proficiency with ServiceNow scripting (client scripts, business rules, UI actions, Flow Designer).
• Ability to create and manage forms, tables, and business policies in ServiceNow.
• Experience with ServiceNow IAM plugins.
• Familiarity with best practices in identity architecture (e.g., centralized IdM on ServiceNow).

Preferred Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (client scripts, business rules, Flow Designer).
• Experience with PAM/provisioning tools.
• Familiarity with REST/SOAP API design and integration.
• Experience with CI/CD processes.
• Knowledge of security standards (GDPR, HIPAA).

Preferred Certifications:

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Mid-to-End
• Certifications in secure development and compliance (e.g., CISA)

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in scripting and automation (JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
