Singapore Credit Officer, Derivatives Competence Center

Julius Baer is seeking a Credit Officer for its Derivatives Competence Center in Singapore, who will focus on credit risk management, derivatives, and market risks. The position requires extensive experience in the financial sector as well as strong analytical skills to support client inquiries and risk assessments.

Tasks

  • Work closely with relationship managers and product asset managers to facilitate client requests and to manage and mitigate credit risks associated with transactions
  • Maintain a healthy dialogue with internal cultures and ensure that policies are in place for a sophisticated overall portfolio
  • Manage counterparties' net exposures, limit management, and
  • Provide expert advice on credit risk and the management of derivative transactions
  • Support understanding of the risks associated with OTC and equity FDs, as well as derivatives transactions
  • Oversee and manage credit risk associated with trading in various products involving large trading clients with proprietary risk profiles
  • Working on expert teams, as a role model, plays a critical role in providing expert advice and support regarding the risk exposure on credit lines
  • Build trusted relationships with credit officers, the legal department, risk management, and business partners
  • Support transactional execution through close collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Manage the relationship with the Credit Officer at the operational level, providing timely and relevant information
  • Communicate risk recommendations clearly and ensure that information is passed down the chain
  • Contributes to projects related to risk methodologies, infrastructure, and project estimates
  • Support the implementation of improvements to credit risk and capital adequacy
  • Participate in strategic initiatives related to investment systems, collateral management, and risk management
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to promote best practices throughout the organization
  • Demonstrate an appropriate attitude regarding behaviors that include, but are not limited to, standards and codes of conduct; the use of data for governance; the management of risks associated with business transactions; the management of conflicts of interest; compliance and continuous improvement; proper management; and compliance with applicable rules and regulations

Requirements

  • Experience in credit risk, X.A. pricing, team ratio, or related fields
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • University degree in a business field
  • 10 years of industry experience
  • CFA or CFA-equivalent qualifications
  • Understanding of underwriting, client management, and training.
  • Experience with complex options, stock derivatives, and trading platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, etc., in similar business environments
  • Strong team players who work effectively in a cross-functional team with diverse roles
