Software / DevOps Engineer 80-100% (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Software/DevOps Engineer (80-100%) for a contract until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension, to support development teams through a modern DevOps approach and enable the migration of applications to cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have experience in application development, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructures, as well as excellent communication and coaching skills.
Tasks
- Supporting multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and product teams with onboarding to our internal DevOps platform and curated Azure services
- Implementation of re-platforming/migration of applications to cloud infrastructure in compliance with corporate standards, compliance controls, and security-by-design principles
- Implementation of the migration of CI/CD pipelines from Bitbucket/Jenkins to GitLab, in compliance with platform standards and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with development teams to educate and empower them on DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native development
- Contribute to improving the developer experience by creating templates, documentation, and training materials that simplify platform adoption.
Requirements
- Software developer with extensive practical experience (5+ years) in application development (Java, .NET, Python, or similar)
- Practical experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and migrating between toolchains (Bitbucket/Jenkins → GitLab)
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, Git workflows, and modern delivery practices
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure as code
- Experience with containerized workload provisioning and orchestration (Nexus, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience working in air-gapped or restricted enterprise environments where all external dependencies must be consumed from internal registries
- Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are a strong advantage.
- Fluent English (written/spoken), knowledge of German is an advantage
- Excellent communication and coaching skills – ability to simplify complex issues and guide teams through change
- Proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working in agile environments (SAFe or similar) and collaborating across multiple teams
